Wednesday July 1 in Expo Milano 2015 featured a focus on “Impresa Irpinia” (Irpinia Enterprise), celebrating the business successes and culinary peculiarities of the area around the city of Avellino. In its exhibition area in Piazzetta Irpinia, on the Cardo Expo street, Enrico Preziosi, President of Genoa Football Club and of Giochi Preziosi, and Saverio Moschillo, fashion entrepreneur, entertainingly informed the public through a conversation on the paths that led them to their success. This in the presence of actress Nastassja Kinski, Italian Senator Roberto Formigoni, and Clarence Seedorf, the Dutch ex-footballing star. The event was moderated by Domenico Gambacorta, President of the Province of Avellino.
Irpinian roots, illustrating local achievement
Conceived to communicate the talent, natural resources and gastronomic highlights of Irpinia, the event began with the testimony of two successful businessmen from the Province of Avellino who have achieved international fame. “Irpinia is still far too little known – explainedPreziosi– It is a land which is hard to prepare and to sow, hoping to reap rewards. In the afternoon, other businesses from the Province of Avellino presented their stories, in a session focused in particular on the area’s culinary traditions, its food products and its sustainability, plus its importance on a global dimension.
