The Cooking Show. From Ilario Vinciguerra to Tomas Saldivia, a new week of haute cuisine

    A new funny week is about to start for the guests at The Cooking Show, the programme featuring Italian and foreign chefs who share their dishes, recipes, cultures and cuisine tales, to reflect on the theme of Expo Milano 2015 “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. The show is on every day at the Expo Centre inside the RAI studios, with two confronting chefs and the anchor-woman Lisa Casali, an expert of sustainable cuisine, who will prepare a third dish with the left-overs and the wastes from the two previous preparations.

    This week kicks off with chef Ilario Vinciguerra who is cooking with Rick Moonen from the US. And then chef Fabrizio Ferrari with chef Tomàs Saldivia, who revisited the traditions of ancient Mapuche natives, with interesting dishes made with sweet corn and merkel, a special spice with a smoked and spicy aftertaste.

    The week continues with chefs Elio Sironi and Philippe Joannes from Monaco, who, on the occasion of Expo Milano 2015, reinterpreted the barnagiuan recipe, which is a type of pasta stuffed with chards, grated cheese and bresaola. The Costardi brothers, experts of risotto and famous for their Tomato Rice served in a can to pay homage to Andy Warhol, will be again guests of the show with chef Luis Miguel from Angola. Guests will also include Cristian Bertol, Nico Rizzi and Marco Ambrosino, who will share a moment of cultural and culinary exchange with chefs from Oman and Mexico.

    Considering that the plating-up is gaining importance, the food designers Laura Paesi and Luisa Manfrini, will talk about the aesthetics of the dishes and explain how to dish out food in a precise however pleasant way. Room will also be available for reflections on the theme of Expo Milano 2015 “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”: this week Andrea Segrè, ordinary professor of International and compared agrarian policies and dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Bologna, will talk about the fight against food wastes and how to revaluate food through information and education.

    To participate in the live audience of The Cooking Show, register at the Infopoint in front of the Expo Centre, every day until 2:30pm. The live show is recorded every day inside the Rai Expo studio at the Expo Centre, close to Pavilion Zero, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
