Expo Milano 2015 has welcomed an international star of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Horace Grant, four time champion of the NBA title in the 90's with the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers, was the guest of honor at an event organized by Coca-Cola, in the Coca-Cola Pavilion. The former American basketball player was welcomed byGiuseppe Sala, Sole Commissioner of the Government of Italy for Expo Milano 2015, Evguenia Stoichkova, Country Manager of Coca-Cola Italy and theArmani Basket Under-13s Junior basketball team.

The event began with a parade along the Decumano, featuring theArmani Basket Under-13s Junior basketball team.and Foody, the mascot of Expo Milano 2015. At the Coca-Cola Pavilion, Horace Grant welcomed fans and children, where he enjoyed taking a few shots at the net. The NBA champion and Sala entertained the public with basketball passes and tricks. And the Sole Commissioner even tried on theNBAring, traditionally worn by the winner of the NBA title.

The NBA star was received byStoichkova, who explained how the American company "has been promoting an active lifestyle that has been one of the key values of the Coca-Cola philosophy for years”. The meeting also provided another opportunity to reconfirm the company’s decision to donate the Coca-Cola Pavilion to the Municipality of Milan at the end of Expo Milano 2015. The building will be transformed into a covered basketball court for the local community.“We are speaking and working - saidSala – for today’s Event, but Coca-Cola also has in mind a real project that goes beyond Expo Milano 2015”. Grant, who has been an international NBA ambassador for several years, stressed the importance of this gift, which demonstrates "the character and spirit of this company". The star strongly urged the public to “exercise for our health and to be happy”, encouraging everyone to attend the “NBA Fun Zone” event scheduled to take place this weekend in Piazza Duomo.
