The secrets of living well. The program for the day
A healthy lifestyle marked by regular nutrition and continuous physical exercise form the basis of “Wellness.” Quality of life, personal health, prevention, sustainability for the planet, but also social opportunity and increases in business productivity: there are many facets and benefits of Lifestyle Wellness, and Expo Milano 2015 was an ideal occasion to present them to a large and diverse audience.
The event began at 11:00 with comments fromGiuseppe Sala, who stated that he is very satisfied with the massive participation by the visitors of Expo Milano 2015: “I am pleased because people are coming here and are happy to walk for a kilometer and a half. The response has been incredible. People walk along the entire Decumano and are happy to do it.”
The morning continued with appearances by Silvano Zanuso (Scientific Director of Technogym),Ranieri Guerra andPatrizio Sarto, who highlighted the role that physical exercise plays in the prevention of illness and obesity. “Physical activity,”Guerraremarked, “results in a saving on medication. We need, however, to ramp up the offerings by local administrations, which are not always ideal and consistent in our area.”
“Let’s Move & Donate Food.” The united app for wellbeing. When wellness aligns with technology and with the United Nations
Next, Giovanni Malagò (president of CONI) took to the stage to list the athletic successes and the Italian athletes at the Olympics, a sign of the significant attention that Italy, he says, pays to sports activities. At noon, Nerio Alessandri was interviewed by Massimo Sideri ofCorriere della Seraas he introduced an innovative app that allows the user to monitor wellbeing through technology.
The Technogym app also allows visitors to transform their visit and each of their steps at the Expo site into meals donated to the malnourished people of the planet with the social campaign Let’s Move & Donate Food created in collaboration with the World Food Program of the United Nations. “Wellness does not mean going to the gym three times a week; it is a lifestyle. Being sedentary is a problem, so digital technologies let us maximize the reach of our message and personalize objectives, as well as making a contribution to countries hurt by food shortages.”
In closing, a panel discussion on “Education on healthy lifestyles” was held with speakersAmbassador Chef Davide Oldani, basketball championMarco BelinelliandLinus, founder of Radio Deejay.
