ImamYahya Pallavicini, the General Commissioner of Expo Milano 2015, Bruno Antonio Pasquino; the Sole Commissioner for the Government of Expo Milano 2015, Giuseppe Sala, representatives of the Countries that suffered terrorist attacks last Friday - France, Tunisia and Kuwait - and the delegates of many Participants in the Universal Exposition all participated in the ceremony - that consisted in eating a date and drinking some water, as the sun went down.
"This is an important opportunity in which Expo Milano 2015 shows a dual awareness - explained Imam Pallavicini: respect and attention for the authentic sacred expressions of the Islamic religion and solidarity with the victims and Countries, including many Islamic countries, that have suffered at the hands of the inexcusable insanity of terrorist violence from those who hope to use true religion to fulfill their own purposes based on ideologies and the thirst for power, who are completely unrelated to any kind of religious creed”.
Many Muslim workers and visitors present on the exposition site also attended the Iftar ceremony.
