The greetings from these institutions highlighted the role of
Expo Milano 2015 as a place for dialog and meetings between cultures and governments. “The Universal Exposition in Milan,” stated
Fuad bin Jaafar Al Sajwani, “permits the presence and comparison of many of the world’s countries, offering a platform where we can strengthen international relations and cooperation in order to increase development.” In agreement with this statement, Undersecretary
Olivero concluded that “
Expo Milano 2015 demonstrates that it is a place for knowledge, where we can take concrete actions against the challenges tied to safeguarding the environment and achieving food security and sustainable development.” After the institutional ceremony, the Omani minister signed the
Charter of Milan and then the delegations visited the
Sultanate of Oman Pavilion.
At the end of the
National Day of Oman, visitors could take a guided tour of Oman’s pavilion and watch a performance by a folk group of musicians and Omani dancers,
Al Majd. In the evening, the Pavilion will transform its spaces into a representation of the country, and the atmosphere and places that set Omani cities apart will be reproduced while the audience enjoys a concert by
the Oud Ensemble of the Royal Opera House.
