The celebrations were officially opened with the presentation of the
“Expo 2015” fruit sculpture composed of watermelons and melons offered by
Coldiretti, and this was followed by
Sala tasting some of the flavours offered by the companies
Rigoletto,
Pernigotti,
Grom and
Piazzetta Piacenza, united in Piazza Italia in a Carousel of ice-cream carts, representing the master ice-cream makers of the Pavilions of
Expo Milano 2015. The entire afternoon was animated by the initiatives promoted in the
Cocoa and Chocolate Cluster, with tasting of typical ice-creams from Ecuador and Choco Cocktails prepared by the barman
Daniele Losquadro, in the
Cereals and Tubers Cluster, where Rigoletto offered visitors he opportunity to taste a typical desert of Milanese tradition, panettone with ice-cream, and in the
Bio-Mediterraneum Cluster, where the
Sicily Region offered refreshing slushes made with citrus fruits and watermelon.
